Tanka Poet. Teacher of Japanese Language. Born in Tokyo in 1944. Now she lives in Inokashira, Tokyo. Graduated from Seisen Women’s University, Spanish Literature Department (1966) Lived in West Germany (1976-79) and England (1995-96).

This is a book of Takuboku and Bokusui Tanka poetry translated into English and Spanish. Takuboku and Bokusui were born within one year of each other, both of them aspired to write tanka poetry in their teens and came to Tokyo from the countryside with this ambition. Takuboku’s A Handful of Sand and Bokusui’s A Separation were published in the same year, 1910.
